Freeze the screen.
Take exactly what you need.
The blazing-fast screenshot tool Windows deserves. Capture, annotate, redact, OCR and record GIFs — beautifully. Everything runs locally; your screenshots never leave your computer.
Stop the moment.
Then take your time.
Most tools capture after you select — animations and tooltips slip through. Obvelio captures first, then lets you pick over the frozen image. It feels like stopping time.
Press the hotkey
The whole screen freezes instantly — under 300 ms, no loading, no shutter lag. You're selecting over a still frame, so nothing escapes.
Select with precision
A crosshair, a pixel magnifier and live dimensions guide you to a pixel-perfect selection. Switch Area, Window, Text or GIF from one bar.
It's already done
On release it's saved to disk and copied to your clipboard, and the Quick Access card appears — annotate, redact, share or pin in a click.
Capture is just the start
Annotation, redaction, beautiful backgrounds, OCR, GIF, pinning and a searchable history — all in a single, quietly premium app.
Mark it up, beautifully
A full editor opens on top of your capture: arrows, shapes, smoothed pencil, text, highlighter, spotlight, numbered counters, a ruler and crop — with real undo/redo.
- 10+ tools
- Editable .obvelio projects
- Re-edit from history
Turn screenshots into share-ready art
Wrap any capture in a gradient, solid color or image background with padding, corner radius and aspect presets. Perfect for docs, decks and social.
- 10 gradient presets
- Padding & radius
- Auto-Balance centering
Pull text out of any pixels
Select a region and Obvelio reads the text — Czech and English — fully offline. The engine and language data ship inside the app. Nothing leaves your computer.
- Czech + English
- Confidence score
- 100% offline
Destructive redaction
Blur and pixelate are baked into the exported pixels — the original content can't be recovered from the file or project.
Quick Access Overlay
A frosted card floats in after every capture: annotate, copy, save, pin, frame or delete — or drag the file straight into another app.
GIF recording
Select an area or window, fine-tune the region, set frame rate, cursor capture and countdown, then record live to a GIF.
Color picker
The magnifier shows the pixel under your cursor; press C for a panel with HEX, RGB and HSL — each copyable in one click.
Pin to screen
Float a screenshot always-on-top with opacity control, aspect-locked resizing and a click-through lock. Reference anything.
Window capture
Hover to highlight, click to grab an exact window. On Windows 11 the rounded corners stay transparent in PNG exports.
Capture history
Every capture is kept locally in SQLite — grouped by day, filterable, with configurable retention. Drag items out into any app.
Multi-monitor, mixed-DPI
Capture on any display at any scale factor. Fullscreen grabs the monitor under your cursor — no offset crops.
Muscle memory,
not menu hunting
Every capture starts from a global shortcut — reconfigurable, with conflict detection. The app lives quietly in the system tray and is ready the instant you press a key.
All shortcuts are reconfigurable in Settings → Shortcuts.
Your screenshots never
leave your computer.
Privacy isn't a feature here — it's the architecture. Everything runs locally. The only network calls are an update check and a single anonymous launch ping (a random per-install ID plus the app version) so we can count users — no content, no identifying data, ever.
- No accounts, no sign-in, no cloud uploads
- OCR runs on-device — language data ships in the app
- Captures, recordings and file names never leave your PC
Bring it to your Windows
Free for Windows 10 & 11. Per-user install, no admin rights, and it keeps itself up to date with signed releases.
Good to know
Is it really free?+
Yes — Obvelio is free today. A Pro tier may arrive later, but everything currently in the app is unlocked and free.
Do I need admin rights?+
No. Obvelio installs per-user with a standard NSIS installer. If the WebView2 runtime is missing (rare on Windows 11), the installer fetches it automatically.
Windows warns about an unknown publisher — is that safe?+
The installer isn’t code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen shows an "unknown publisher" notice on first run. Click "More info" → "Run anyway".
Which versions of Windows are supported?+
Windows 10 and 11 (x64). macOS and Linux aren’t available yet.
Does it phone home?+
Only an update check and a single anonymous launch ping (random per-install ID + app version). No screenshots, OCR text, file names or identifying data are ever sent.
